I am grieved in my soul. I am grieved that the majority of modern, evangelical Christians do not have a clear, concise, Biblical understanding of the Gospel of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
We know not the Gospel.
I posted a blog just this morning in regards to a simple, but somewhat controversial topic (for some) of "Asking Jesus into your heart". There is as much Biblical evidence for asking Jesus into your heart as there is the theory-tale of Evolution.
We claim to understand and have even studied words like "hermeneutics" and "exegesis". When confronted to validate a rebuttal against "Asking Jesus into your heart" are either of these tools used? No. Unfortunately, only eisegesis.
I'll let Paul Washer do the talking here. I am pleading with you to watch this...
"We Know Not The Gospel"
There is no other point of reference than the Bible. Not what we've been taught through ways of men, not what we know...or think we know. It is only the Scriptures. I sincerely pray that you would pray and meditate on these things.
