George...Meet Jesus

Yesterday, George Carlin got a huge shock. He bowed before the One he blasphemed for so many years, Jesus Christ. He stood was on his face before the King of kings and the Lord of lords giving an account for every idle word he had spoken...not just the "Seven" (and many more) you can't say on television. Oh, the horror...the terror. For Carlin, the revelation that God is real came too late. As a Christian, I do not rejoice in Carlin's punishment, it actually saddens me. I write this so that you might be persuaded. That you, if not a Christian, may be warned and have hope.

Carlin was actually exactly one heartbeat too late. Once a person's heart stops beating for the last time, it's too late. Please do not let it be too late for you. Do you know the date and time in which your heart will stop beating and you will draw your last breath? I know I don't and none of us is guaranteed our next breath or heartbeat. Think about it. Think about the seriousness of it. Look into the eyes of the picture of Carlin and think about where he is now. In hell...unless, of course, if, in his last days, he repented of his sins and put his faith and trust in Jesus Christ. Then, he is in heaven like any other sinner that is saved by the grace of our loving and merciful God.

Understand that you've sinned against God and are deserving of what George Carlin is facing right now. Realize that Jesus Christ paid your debt that the Justice of a holy and righteous Judge calls for. Repent of your sins and put your faith and trust in Jesus Christ today.

Think everythings alright, you're a "pretty good" person and you'll make it to heaven? Take a quick test to see if your "good enough" to make it. Hopefully, you'll realize that no one is good enough. Please, don't end up like George Carlin.
